Al Maloof, an employee of Barnes & Thornburg, will also assist BT Strategies. For over 30 years, Al has worked internally with law firms, directly supporting lawyers with a focus on practice group development, engaging in collaborative pitch efforts, and regularly assisting firm attorneys with privileged and often highly sensitive pursuits and matters. He has also been working for years with lawyers as well as other professionals to develop opportunities for non-legal services consulting projects. For the last three decades, he has led and worked on projects involving government procurement and contracting, real estate development, innovation and technology, numerous industries involving infrastructure and facilities as well as sector specific expansion and advocacy. 

As someone who has always been fascinated with how communities grow and evolve with the help of government, Al pursued public service. For more than two decades, he served in or staffed local, state and federal government roles in sectors involving transportation and infrastructure, healthcare and insurance, environment and sustainability, justice, public procurement and others. Al is fully immersed in studying how government impacts our daily lives. Thus, he became a lifelong student of government, which he practices today. 

During his career, Al has also helped several law firms establish and operate non-legal ancillary or affiliated entities that have offered practicing lawyers as well as retired lawyers opportunity to participate in projects or transactions that do not fit within the practice of law.
